• Adult Education ESL Instructor Part Time

    Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Adult Education Part Time English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor. This position is located at the Gordon Campus. The person in this position will teach individuals of limited English proficiency how to read, write, and speak the English language and will evaluate the students’ progress in attaining goals. The successful candidate will develop lesson plans, organize material, and deliver instruction. He or she will maintain a secure classroom environment, participate in professional development activities, and prepare required documentation and reports.

    Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Experience teaching or training non-native speakers of English. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills along with excellent computer skills. Ability to integrate technology into the daily lesson.

    Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Experience teaching basic academic skills to adult learners. Experience teaching students with limited English proficiency in an open-entry, multi-level classroom. Teaching certification is a plus.

    Salary Range: $20.00 per hour. 12 instructional hours per week plus 2 hours of planning time for a total of 14 hours per week. Work schedule will be 4 pm – 7 pm Monday through Thursday with two additional hours scheduled for planning. Position and hours based on funding and enrollment.
