    Job Description
    OBJECTIVE:
    The Cost Accountant ensures that all cost accounting functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner.  He/she is responsible for the preparation, analysis, reconciliation and distribution of all monthly financial reports relating to cost performance, inventory, and fixed asset accounting. He/she is a key business partner to the manufacturing and supply chain organization.
     
    COST ACCOUNTING RESPOINSIBILITIES:
    • Weekly Key Indexes (Flash Reports)
    • All Cost Planning, Quoting Activities and Standard Cost Rollups
    • Inventory Accounting and Valuation
    • Fixed Asset Accounting and depreciation schedules
    • Production Accounting and Analysis
    • Annual Operating Budget
    • Monthly Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Labor, Material, Overhead Variance Analysis and Reporting
    • General Ledger Back-up
    • Annual System update of Operating Budget and Standard Costs.
    • Maintenance of Standard Costs
     QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BS in Accounting or Finance with strong knowledge of US GAAP, CPA Preferred
    • Minimum of five to seven years in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong background in General and Financial accounting
    • Experience with ERP systems, PLEX a plus
    • Ability to function as a proactive member of cost optimization teams
    • Good written and oral communication skills
