On Thursday, Jan 26, 6:30 pm, Friends of New Echota (FONE) will hold their quarterly General Meeting in the theater at New Echota State Historic Site. Independent scholar, Sarah H. Hill, PhD, will present a program on Cherokee basketry. Dr. Hill authored the acclaimed book Weaving New Worlds: Southeastern Cherokee Women and their Basketry and encourages attendees to bring baskets for identification and discussion. FONE's business meeting will follow. Everyone is invited to attend.
