STORYTELLING AT NEW ECHOTA Friends of New Echota (FONE) invite you to the New Echota Storytelling Festival, Saturday, February 25, 10 am to 4 pm. Featured tellers include Debby Brown, Gary Greene, Sylvia Idoms, Tom Lanford, Don Nix, and Jamie Russell. Stories will include personal tales of family, home, and identity, as well as historic tales of the Cherokee and the Appalachians. You won't want to miss this opportunity to see these storytelling masters at work. Bring your friends and family. We'll be in the Council House with the fireplace going, so dress warm and bring a lunch. ABOUT US: Friends of New Echota is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization formed in 2009 for the purpose of supporting the programs and projects of New Echota State Historic Site, which attracts 10,000 visitors and generates almost one million dollars for the local economy annually.
